Umbria is the green heart of Italy |
|
Agriturismo (Italian for farm holiday) with 4 elegant studios and apartments, set in a lovely garden with huge swimming pool (17 meter). The farm is just south of Perugia, not far from Deruta. The apartments have airconditioning and wifi, and one (Salvia) is suitable for wheelchair users.
Studio Basilicum (30 m2) is ideal for a couple, but in case you would travel with a young child, the third bed can proof useful. The apartment is on the first floor. In the garden you will have your own outside furniture, under a nice pergola.
Studio Allium (30 m2) is the same as studio Basilicum, with the difference that here there is a platform with two single beds where children could sleep. In total therefore, you can stay here in 4. On the first floor, also here with garden furniture outside in your own pergola.
Apartment Rosmarinus (50 m2) is also on the first floor. There are two bedrooms. One is a twin and one is a double. There is one bathroom. In total you could stay here with 6 people, because there is also a double sofabed.
Apartment Salvia (40 m2) is on the ground floor. There is one bedroom with a double and single bed and in the living area with kitchen one extra person can sleep on the chair that turns into a single bed. The apartment is suitable for wheelchair users. This apartment does not have airconditioning.
Each first floor apartment of this holiday farm has airconditioning
(meaning Salvia does not have airco). The bathrooms have showers and
each has its fohn. Each kitchen has a built in fridge, an oven, an
american coffee maker and a 4 ring gas cooker.

WHERE TO FIND THIS AGRITURISMO IN UMBRIA

Back to the description of Agriturismo Umbria From 2009: Dear Saskia and Willemijn, Also this year we had a fantastic holiday. We can oly have positive comments about our stay at Agriturismo Umbria. The apartment was practical and very stylish. WE stayed at the ground floor. The owners are helpful and friendly. It was the second time we went and maybe there will be a third time. Our children (2 and 7) also enjoyed it a lot. Regards, Iris
Dear Saskia & Willemijn, Last summer we stayed at two different agriturismos, one in Tuscany and one in Umbria. We had ample opportunity to compare the two. Our remarks and suggestions for the Agriturismo Umbria: Positive aspects: - very friendly, - nive rooms, - good pool with good deckchairs - dinner on the last evening (though we did understand that the owners do not always do this, due to a lack of time) IN Tuscany we did niot have a dinner but a drink on one of the evenings. Maybe the owners of Agriturismo Umbria, rather then make a complete dinner, they can offer drinks with some local delicacies to taste. And not on the last day, but one of the first days in the week. That way guests can get toknow eachother in an informal way. Negative aspects: - The price wasn't all inclusive. Having to pay in cash for cleaning and airco I find quite annoying. As if you have a choice. - Near the pool there were rules regarding the use of the pool, opening times (9.30 am -20.00 pm) and swimming caps were given to all guests. - Final payment can only be done in cash, not with credit card. - Terraces in the garden: of the 5 places to sit, there was only one with a decent table and chairs. Two terraces had iron tables and chiars, but it seemed more for the show then for comfort. The wooden tabele with wooden benches seemed to fragile to us. - We missed a few small things that we did have in Tuscany: flowers in a vase, cold white wine in the fridge, home made marmelade. On our last day in Umbria we heard that the owners have their own wine and watermelons. It would be nice if they'd offer some to their guests. To find flowers in the area to put in a vase, can't be toot difficult. In Umbria the owners were very correct and friendly but we missed the extra touch. It was all quite formal. I hope my remarks will help you with your work. Regards, Beata Reaction Villa in Umbria: regarding the pool regulations - within a few years time unfortunately all agriturismi in Umbria will have to comply with new regional rules for the use of "public pools" which also means providing swimming caps and having entrance hours, apart from many other, for guests, rather anoying regulations.
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, Our stay n Umbria has been very good, apart from the weather, but nobody can help that. We were the only guests and had the garden and the pool for ourselves. The apartment was good and as we expected. The owners who popped by now and then were friendly and helpful. The sons speak english which made the communication somewhat easier. The onlt but would be that we would have enjoyed a bit more information about restaurants in the area. We did leave some addresses behind for future guests. Apart from this, nothing but compliments. With kind regards, Elly
Hi Willemijn We had a lovely holiday: a good apartment, nice pool and enough privacy thank to the different terraces. Wonderful location! We enjoyed it all a lot and have lived our holiday with a "Carpe Diem feeling"! A small remark would be that Rita asked us at the beginning of our holiday whether we wanted to use the air conditioning. We said yes, but probably not immediately. As a result we did not have any airco the rest of the week. It took 4 days to get hold of the remote control (owners passed by when we were not there and vice versa) and we had to pay extra for using it the last two days. We thought it was included in the price, hence our delusion. Apart from that, they were very friendly hosts. Regards, Kathleen
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, This year we rented two apartments at the Agriturismo Umbria in Pieve di Castello, near Marsciano. It was our second time here, now with our adult children. We enjoy the peace and quiet, the nice surroundings, the good apartments and the friendly owners. We warmly recommend the place to friends and family. Regards, Hilde and Luc
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, We very much enjoyed our holiday. The accomodation is good. Just a pity we do not speak italian and coudn't comunicate with the owners. We were completely alone and imagined we owned the place! In short: very quiet and a lot of time relaxing! The inventory of the kitchen was good and brand new. Our terrace had a table and some comfortable chairs. The only but is the mattrass on the double bed. I think it needs to be substituted. With kind regards, Thijs and Ella
Hi Saskia, I just wanted to drop you a quick review of our recent stay in Agriturismo Umbria. We really couldn't fault the actual accomodation, very clean, very comfortable and even better than the images on the website. The gardens and pool were fantastic and the kids really enjoyed them, especially the new swings and the table tennis table. WiFi is a big plus and should be advertised on the site. The 1st week was definately better than the 2nd and that was mainly due to the other guests who were with us. During the 2nd week two more Italian families arrived and when they got together they took over the place and made it quite uncomfortable. They also had their own guests turn up for various days and we felt that that was not appropriate, we had booked the apartment to be semi private not open to visitors. We did speak to the owners about it but towards the end of the week we felt that it was Italians vs the English and to some extent we were quite pleased to be coming home. There was considerable smoking by the Italians and this filled the common areas with smoke, right outside our apartment door, not something we were happy about as non-smokers. If you want to feed anything back to the owners it should be that guests should not have guests and smoking should be restricted to the garden area and nowhere near the accomodation. Thanks for your help. All the best, Alex
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, We were welcomed very kindly and were immediately invited for dinner with a group of italians. We have been very pleased with the apartment, the facilities and the service of the owners. A bit more privacy outside would be recommendable, but the owners mentoned they were looking into ways to imrpove that. With kind regards, Martijn
Hello Saskia and Willemijn, We loved our holiday, despite of the extreme heat&ldots; The accomodation was in a lovely area, it was clean and well furnished. There is a good pool! We would have loved a bit more contact with the owners to get some more information about the area. They do not live on the premises and speak only italian, so it was hard to establish a good contact. Only by the end of the week at Agriturismo Umbria we realised there was air conditioning in the apartment. It would have been nice if the owners would have mentioned it upon arrival. Apart from that it was all ok. Kind regards and maybe until next time, Marianne
From before 2009: We're back home and i wanted to let you know that we were pleased with everything. Regards, Erwin
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, We don't have any specific comments to be made on our accomodations. We liked it. Our house on the ground flour was very nice, great to be able to sit outdoors under the stone coverage, even when it rained. Regards, Lydia
Hello Willemijn, We have enjoyed our holiday in Tuscany and Umbria. We already knew Tuscany but didn't know about Umbria and it really pleased us. Also the agriturismo in Umbria. Unfortunately we have missed the Umbria evening because my wife got very sick and didn't feel like going out. She has been pregnant for 3,5 months and everything is fine but sometimes she can get very sick. We felt bad about cancelling at the last moment. Who knows there might come another time in wich we visit Umbria. Regards, Alexander
Dear Saskia and Willemijn, We spent a lovely week and the surroundings, garden and swimming pool are fabulous. We also liked the location, easy to reach etc. We liked the attentive owners very much. (i speak italian, wich was necessary, but you already pointed this out in your covering email!) We thought it lovely that the appartment had a covered terrace. A bit small for four people but it does give this appartment an extra dimension. The only drawback was the mattress of the double bed. (there was a dip and it was deformed, put in other words, I think it needs to be replaced!) I hope this information is helpful, but a place to be fully recommended for anyone who would like to visit Umbria. Kind regards, Dymph
Hello Willemijn, It seems like it already has been quite a while (17 May). We really liked it only is it noisy. On the last night we had very noisy neighbours (an italian pair with two children) wich were yelling and shrieking till after 10.00. We thought to ourselves ' imagine having them next to you for a week'. But for us it was just one night. Besides that, everything fine. Regards and thanks, Jacques & Irene
We have already been back for a couple of weeks but I still would like to let you kow that we had a great time in Agriturismo Umbrie! The weather did change for the best quite fast and we were able to enjoy life outdoors. We had a tremendous experience which I would like to share with you. Maybe you can pass it on as a tip to other guests. A few times we had a really great meal at La Maison D&D in San Valentino della Collina (wich is very nearby) The first time there was no one but everything was done to accomodate us. Nicely laid table in the big garden and soon one great dish after the other started emerging. We ended up eating there 5 or 6 times for very moderate prices. We never saw a menu and just let Elena's culinary artistry surprise us. On fridays, saturdays and sundays a real wood-fired pizza oven is put into action. I never had such a great pizza. Our daughter was allowed to knead the pizza dough. The family is very sweet and warm they loved our 4 your old daughter Luna. When I asked if I could be taught some of their cooking skills there was very positive response. In the end I spent three days learning how to prepare real authentic italian dishes, really fantastic. Getting to know Elena, her husband Renato and sons Davide and Danilo really gave our holiday in Umbria surplus value. We hold them close to our hearts. A real recommendationto for other holiday-makers. Kind regards, Lydia
