Dear Saskia and Sylvia, after meeting Roberta in Montefalco we were more than satisfied about this beautiful place. Fantastic. We had friendly neighbors and often went to Roberta’s cantina in the city centre of Montefalco. We enjoyed some medieval villages in the Umbrian hills not far from Montefalco. You informed us well and we want to thank you for that. Also your quick replies and professional information on your website was pleasant. All together we wish you good luck and hopefully we will return in Umbria. We will surly tell our friends about your website. Greetings, Yvonne and Gejo, Holland
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
to start with we would like to thank you for the excellent advice! The place was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful views, both during the day as well as in the evening (we enjoyed it up to late at night).
The apartment is clean and well furnished and maintained. We had all we needed. More than enough towels and after a week the linen was changed.
The pool is maintained well and there are enough sun beds and outside furniture for all. The water of the swimming pool was clean and pleasant, also its temperature.
The owners are very kind and helpful. Too bad Roberta does not speak better English and also her husband (the owner of, according to us, two restaurant in Montefalco, both Federico II and Coccorone). We had good meals in both restaurants, as well as in L'Alchemista across the road.
Montefalco is a lovely village with a lot to see (several beautiful churches and museum), nice shops and many restaurants. Montefalco is also situated centrally and therefore is a good base for exploring Umbria. We have seen a lot: Foligno, Bevagna, Trevi, Spello, Spoleto, Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, Norcia en Piano Grande (beautiful national park). We can also recommend the guided tours in Perugia and Assisi.
We enjoyed meeting you, Willemijn and Saskia, in person during the tour of Castel Rigone. We will certainly return to Umbria and hope to be using your services again!
Best wishes, Barbara and Theo
A bit late, but here is our reaction to a wonderful stay in Montefalco. We enjoyed the town and its surroundings. We were received very pleasantly, the apartment was good and clean. It may be handy to have a kettle for who likes to drink tea, rather then coffee and the satelite can probably be installed differently to receive more/better tv channels. We will surely come back to use one of the houses you promote. Thanks again for finding this house for us at such short notice.
Kind regards from Holland, K. and D.
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
We returned from our vacation last Saturday and I would just like to write a few words about the place we stayed in.
We are very happy that we chose A Montefalco. The apartment is nice and clean, so is the swimming-pool and the setting is beautiful and quiet. The view from the terrace over the valley is magnificent.
The owners, Roberta and Dino, are very friendly and keen that you should feel at home. When our middle son got a severe stomach-ache, Dino was extremely helpful in escorting us to the hospital and helping out with the formalities. The last night of our stay we had a marvellous dinner at their restaurant at a very reasonable price.
The drawbacks are few and insignificant, but when you write that you can walk to town in a few minutes, this requires that you are well-trained and fit, since the way is really steep up-hill. We did it in about 10 minutes, but elderly people might not find it that easy.
We recommend the place. Thank you for finding it for us!
Best regards, Thomas and Cecilia
With pleasure we react to your request for some feed back.
We rented an apartment at Montefalco and had 10 fantastic days. The apartment was clean and neat. We very much liked the flexibility with arrival and departure dates, so we did not have to arrive on a Saturday.
We had good weather and enormously enjoyed the excellent views. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed watching "the old man" work every morning in his garden. With love he tpook care of his plants and vegetables.
The surroundings of Montefalco are very interesting. We travelled a lot and also visited Assisi and Orvieto. We even went by train to Rome. We would like you to comunicate to Roberta our wonderful experience at her home.
Furthermore we would like to give you some feed back about our trip to Venice where we stayed in the B&B you recommended. Whoever considers visiting this area, we can warmly recommend the B&B. The hospitality of Karin and Marcello, their wonderful house, gave just this little bit extra to our stay in Venice.
We also would like to compliment you for your organisation. We liked being able to speak our mother tongue, not being able to speak a lot of Italian! It made us feel at home even over the e-mail.
So, thank you very much!
Kind regards, Bert and José
We very much enjoyed our stay in Umbria and in particular our stay in one of the ground floor apartments at Montefalco.
We enjoyed the quiet atmosfere, the wonderful views, the pool for a quick swim, the clean and modern furnishings, the good appointed bathroom and the fresh linnen and towels. We appreciated the friendly hospitality of Roberta (like most Umbrian people - by the way - also in bars and restaurants). It wasn't always easy to comunicate with her since we speak only limited italian and it is the only language Roberta knows.
To recommend some improvements: the inventory of the smaal kitchen can be better. We missed wine glasses, a larger coffeemaker, small saucers or pots to serve apetizers. Some extra light in the kitchen would be handy, as well as a starter package of some spices, washing up liquid, cleaning towels etc.
The small village of Montefalco offers a good mix of culture, good food, views all around en friendly local people. You can feel at home in the good mix of tourists and locals. Easy to reach are Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Todi, Bevagna and many other less well known villages.
Best regards, Rob
Hi Saskia & Willemijn,
We are back from our holiday in Switzerland and Italy.
I wanted to tell you that, though we had a good holiday, the apartment in Montefalco was particularly dirty. I cleaned it myself quickly and pretended not to see the rest. Even the terrace in front was too dirty to sit.
We told the owner but she did not take any proper action. We also had to ask for a teapot, wineglasses, beer and normal glasses, dustpan and brush etc.
I never experienced this before and hope you will be able to solve this matter with the owners.
Reaction Villa in Umbria: We have asked the owners why this happened. We have never had this complaint so far. Whenever we visit it looks all clean and neat, and other guests have never mentioned it. We did give the owners a list of inventory, that we think is a minimum to ensure a good stay for our guests. The owners have committed themselves to add whatever is missing and to make sure apartments will be inspected after the cleaners left. Hoping to avoid a similar situation in the future.
The owners of A Montefalco holiday apartments ask a downpayment of 40% of the rental.
The balance can be paid upon arrival.
The security deposit is 150 euro, to be paid upon arrival.
In Italy the tourism tax has been introduced. Each town can decide independently whether to apply this tax. It is important to keep in mind that the prices on our website do NOT include the tourism tax. Where we received confirmation from house owners that they have to ask for this tax, it is written underneath the price table.
Villa in Umbria is an intermediary and as such rents out holiday homes and apartments on behalf of their owners. We do not receive any money from clients. When you book we will be sending an agreement in which you will find the bank details of the owners.
We know each vacation rental personally and also the owners of all the holiday rentals we have in our portfolio.
You can read more about us on the 'About Villa in Umbria' page.
