Agri Massa
Agriturismo Massa Martana is a villa with private pool for groups in Umbria. The agriturismo has a small restaurant on the grounds for private use of the guests, where they can cook and eat together.
The agriturismo has 6 apartments, each with one bedroom, sleeping 2+2 people. Each apartment has its own terrace or outside area, with nice views and privacy. The apartments can also be rented separately.
There are 6 apartments in total, sleeping 12 to 24 guests. The small restaurant for private use of the guests is a few meters from the farmhouse with the lodgings. Guests can cook and eat here together or the owners can organize a cook upon request.
Apartment 1 (2+2): Apartment on the first floor with outside stairs (shared with apartment 2). One bedroom, bathroom with shower and living room with high ceilings, kitchen corner and fire place. Sofa bed in the living room.
Apartment 2 (2+2): Apartment on the first floor with outside stairs (shared with apartment 1). One bedroom, bathroom with shower and living room with high ceilings, kitchen corner and fire place. Sofa bed in the living room.
Apartment 3 (2+2): Apartment on the ground floor with one bedroom, one bathroom and the living room with open plan kitchen, fire place and sofa bed. Private terrace.
Apartment 4 (2+2): Apartment on two floors, with the living room with open plan kitchen on the ground floor and the bedroom with bathroom ensuite on the first floor. The living room has a double sofa bed. Private terrace.
Apartment 5 (2+2): Apartment on two floors, with the living room with open plan kitchen on the ground floor and the bedroom with bathroom ensuite on the first floor. The living room has a double sofa bed. Private terrace.
Apartment 6 (2+2): Apartment on the ground floor with one bedroom and living room with open plan kitchen and double sofa bed. This apartment is suitable for wheelchair users.
The pool is 6 by 14 and lies in a flat area, 20 meters from the agriturismo. There is a big terrace with sun beds around the pool.
Prices are all inclusive apart from final cleaning, heating in the colder months and towels for use at the pool side.
Small domestic animals are allowed. One pays 50 euro cleaning extra.
Renting all 6 apartments (12+12) -with exclusive use of the restaurant kitchen- the prices are as follows: May, June, September euro 2400 per week July and the last week of August Eur 3300 per week. The first three weeks of August the price is Eur 3500 per week.
In high season change-over day is always on Saturday. Out of high season and upon specific request arrival and departure can be different.

we had a very good stay in Umbria.

Hello, Everything went according to plan. Our stay was from 7 till the 14th of august in apartment (5) in Agri Massa Martana. There was a warm reception by Gianni and the fact that we were an hour early was no problem. He gave us some great tips for excursions the Marmore waterfalls, Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Bevagna (very good restaurant is Osteria Del Podesta) ), Montefalco, Norcia. Each tip was a great trip. The pool is splendid and big which pleased us and our children. Quality price-wise the apartment is top. Small imperfection is the fact that at the ridge of the roof our room was not completely separated from another space so some sounds could come in from there. No problem for us however since we were only inside to sleep.

Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
First of all: we had a wonderful holiday in Umbria. The house/apartment was spacious, cool and clean. For about two weeks we were the only guests at the agriturismo, so we had the pool all for ourselves! There is so much peace and quiet up that hill! Wonderful! The views are excellent and every evening we enhjoyed the sun setting and the beautiful surroundings. Gianni (owner/host) regularly passed by with vegetabels and fruit from his parent's garden. The home made marmelade his nother makes we are still enjoying (almost finished!).
After a week we had an accident with our car, due to bad weather. Luckily we only had material damage, but it was a loto of fuss, calling the insurance, getting the car to be picked up, renting another car etc. The insurance could provide us with a second car only after two days, which meant we had to stay longer then planned. Gianni's help, and the help od his family, we gladly accepted. Without them we surely would have had more difficulty. He organised a rental car, gave us a lift picking the car up and bringing it back to Spoleto. He fixed the mountainbikes they have, so we could move around a bit on the days we did not have a car at all. He gave us a lift to the supermarket and we could, fortunately, stay the two extra days.
When we finally got the correct rental car to return home with, we were invited by the family (mama, papa, sister, cousin with wife and kids etc.) for a BBQ they held on the premises. Gianni himself wasn't even present, but we manage to comunicate with hands and feet and enjoyed the evening.
Nonetheless we saw quite a bit of Umbria: Perugia, Monte Falco, Spoleto, Bevagna, San Gemini, Assisi, Marmore (cascades), Aquasparta, Carsulae. A wonderful area with a lot of cultural heritage that we managed to enjoy, despite of our car problem and thanks to the help of Gianni and his family.
Back home we missed the small talk we had with Gianni about all kinds of things.
We also have been satified with your help booking the Agirturismo Massa Martana. We may ask you help again in the future, if we come back to Umbria (we usually do not visit the same place twice). But you never know.

We were vary satisfied with our accomodation in Umbria, Massa Martana. The apartment was spacious and neat. The small inventory of the kitchen (pots and pans) could have been a bit better, but for us it was also a good excuse to eat outside! There is a lot of space around the house and it has an excellent location. It would have been comfortable to have some decliners near the house, but Gianni gave us some from the pool area without problem. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and can recommend it to any future guest.

We really enjoyed our holiday. We thought: we'll be renting the last appartment available (Massa Martana) so it might not be all that great, but we are now convinced we had the premium spot (appartment 5); sunny all day, enough shadow on the terrace, admirable views, the quiet large pool, all very pleasing.
We also liked the welcome upon our arrival (with wine, olive oil and explanation of the area map) and the casual conversation with Gianni, all 'just right'. Great area to make daytrips.
Only small minor point is that while falling into sleep we could hear what the guests at the other frontend appartment (next to us) had to say
Sometimes rather funny regarding the content :-)
Another point, sometimes you are able to hear bugs nibbling at the beams, not an intrusion, it is normal in Southern Europe, but shame about the beams.

Hi Willemijn,
still wanted to let you know that due to your hard work, we still have had an excellent holiday. The agriturismo was lovely, the surroundings beautiful and we had nice weather. What more can someone wish for.
We have managed to do a lot of sightseeing and even went to Pompei and climbed the Vesuvius.
I also wanted to let you know the location is good and especially the welcoming and helpful owners are heart-warming. They really try to make everybody comfortable and have everything under control. Especially Gianni (Michela's brother) is a really nice chap, his English is good and he gave us a hand while our car broke down. He found us a garage after many calls, negotiated for us in Italian, in brief, all very well. We were forced to stay some extra days but also the last days, with half of our party, we had a very good time. Therefore Willemijn, we want to thank you again and who knows whether we will come back to you also next year.

The owners of Agri Massa ask for a downpayment of 30%. You can pay the balance on arrival. There is no security deposit to be paid when renting one single apartment. The security deposit for renting all apartments with restaurant is Eur 300, to be paid in cash upon arrival.
Villa in Umbria is an intermediary and as such rents out holiday homes and apartments on behalf of their owners. We do not receive any money from clients. When you book we will be sending an agreement in which you will find the bank details of the owners.
We know each vacation rental personally and also the owners of all the holiday rentals we have in our portfolio.
Villa in Umbria has been operating as an intermediary since January 2005 and you can check our Italian VAT number (Partita IVA) to verify our existence. Our partita IVA is IT02781540543.
