The holiday home Il Belvedere has three apartments. Rosso, Bianco and Rosato (Red, White and Rose).
The names refer to the three types of wine.
Rosso is the biggest apartment, with 3 bedrooms (two doubles and one twin). The bedrooms share two bathrooms (one with bath and the other with shower) and the apartment has a kitchen with big fridge with separate freezer, 4 pit gas cooker, electric oven and an american coffee maker.
The apartment has a total surface of around 80 m2.

Apartment Bianco is a two bedroom apartment (one twin and one double) sharing a bathroom with shower. The kitchen has a sofa bed for two, a 4 pit gas cooker and a coffee machine upon request.
The living room is 15 m2, one bedroom 14,5 m2, the other 10,2 and the bathroom is 5,5 m2.

Apartment Rosato has one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and the kitchen has a sofa bed for two. This apartment can be used by wheelchair users.
The living room is 16 m2, the bedroom is 16 m2 and the bathroom is 6 m2.
Each apartment has satellite TV. There is a washing machine for general use.
From the parking, the apartments are up on the first floor level on the front of the house, which is ground floor at the back of the house.
The pool is on the same level as the entrances to the apartments. There are 13 steps up from the parking to the first level.
From 2011: Hi Willemijn en Saskia,
we have very much enjoyed our holiday. Especially the view was fantastic. The apartment and pool were totally what we could wish for and the owner was friendly and caring.
2 small issues:
1. the lack of privacy on the terrace, however with the friendly neighbors we had this was really not an issue.
2. the matrasses need replacing.
Best wishes, Connie and Sjef
We once again had a good holiday. Nice house, spacious bedrooms and good bathrooms.
The kitchen is good for Italian standards, but for us spoiled Dutch, it was a bit small. However after one day we got used to it.
We also had lovely views. We do think this is one of the most beautiful areas. Compared to Todi where we were last time and towards the Bolsena lake.
Unfortunately the chairs on the terrace were not very comfortable. We luckily did bring some chairs ourselves because we would not have been able to sit on those chairs a whole day long. Also one umbrellas was a bit little for the whole terrace. Luckily every day there was some wind which made it very nice at the poolside.
We were unlucky that after arrival the boiler broke, so we spent the Sunday without hot water. Monday a new boiler was fitted. The owner apologized but at home we would have had the same problem when things break down over the weekend. She gave us some wine when we left to make up for the troubles.
All in all we have had a good holiday!
Best wishes, Ellen
From 2010:
We had a lovely Villa and time in Italy, the owner was both friendly and helpful. We would recommend the villa apartment to our friends. The only improvement we would have welcomed is the track to the villa being repaired following the recent rain damage to it. A bit of a holiday challenge, but did not let it spoil our visit.
Best regards, B. and J.
Hello Willemijn
We really only have positive feedback for Il Belvedere.
There was some difficulty communicating our late arrival (due to holiday traffic) to the owner in my limited Italian, but nonetheless she was there to meet us, even though it was late. She was around most days and was always friendly and helpful, even sourcing her own locally-produced olive oil for us to buy. The welcome pack of essentials (coffee, milk etc) was very welcome, as well as having the basics like washing up liquid, dishcloths, towels etc in place – more holiday lets should do this.
The only problem, perhaps, was the proximity of the 3 apartments and their terraces, and the fact that Il Rosato is in the middle, necessitating walking past someone whenever we went to the pool / car etc. Luckily both sets of neighbours were quiet and respectful, but I can imagine that privacy might be an issue sometimes.
The situation of the apartments is glorious, with a wonderful view over Lake Corbara and lovely places such as Orvieto, Montecchio and Civitello del Lago to visit. The pool was cleaned early every day and there were plenty of sunbeds, parasols etc. The apartment itself was nicely, if rustically decorated – and the fan a godsend. All in all, we couldn’t recommend it highly enough for those wanting a quiet week away.
Hope this is useful.
Best regards, J. H.
We have had a wonderful time in Il Belvedere!!
Beautiful place to stay for us, in Umbria. We will think about this place many times and recommend it to our friends.
Regards, J. and T.
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
We had 2 fantastic weeks in Umbria. The house was well furnished and the view was amazing. It was quite hot during the night though. There was 1 ventilator for two rooms, maybe an idea to put one in each room. The first week we had the whole complex to our own, what a luxury! Each morning the owner of the house faithfully came by to clean the pool and take care of the plants which made the whole entourage look splendid. She also allowed us to use the washing machine, very convenient. All in all it was great.
Only minor point is that the driveway is a bit steep and has some loose gravel which made the engine of the car work a bit. We are lucky we didn't have any oncoming traffic since passing might have been difficult.
Kind regards, N.V.
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
We have stayed on two locations in Umbria, A Montefalco and Il Belvedere.
We really enjoyed Umbria. An immense green and hilly landscape with beautiful villages and towns, friendly population, delectable food and drink all at gentle prices. Both addresses were at lovely spots, well furnished and with nice pools. The furnishing was completely different, (Montefalco) was bright and modern while Il Belvedere was more characteristic for the area.
One thing to keep in mind is that you need a car to get to both locations.
Il Belvedere is situated at a few kilometres of the nearest village. The driveway (200m) to the apartments is a steep unasphaltated road with some rocks. depending on the weather the situation might be different everyday. The car is not on a holiday here.
I hope this feedback is of use. We are already considering returning to Umbria next year.
Best wishes, Hein and Marlie
From 2009:
Everything was fine. Good atmosfere, quiet. No particular comments. Say hi to the owner!
fam. M.
We very much enjoyed our holiday in Umbria. The apartment had a good atmosfere and was furnitured with care. When we arrived there was a surprise: we received a small supply of coffee, sugar, cookies and more then plenty towels and toilet paper. Sheets and towels were changed after a week and our host was very friendly and helpful. A bit of English would help her a lot, but it also had its charme to have to comunicate in Italian (hands and feet!).
The pool did not have too much chloride - luckily - and was cleaned every day. We very much enjoyed the views over the lake from the pool.
I have no particular comments and would like to come back to Umbria.
With kind regards, Jolanda
A bit of feed back for you: we had a wonderful time in Umbria (Il Belvedere, Agriturismo Gubbio en Agri Uliveto)!
Thank you for your help making the reservations and when we had problems with our flight, arriving a day later then planned!
Best regards, Carolien and Mick
We stayed in the apartment Rosato at Il Belvedere.
O good apartment with a complete inventory. We only missed a large frying pan.
Though we had a good time, we would not recommend the house to friends, because we found the outside space too limited and with little privacy. This was a large contrast with the private terrace we had in Pienza where we stayed the week before.
There also were quite a lot of wasps. Hopefully our comments will help the owner to improve the comfort of her guests.
With kind regards, Eric & Annemiek
Reaction Villa in Umbria: Next year the owner will place large pots with plants in between the terraces, providing more privacy when sitting outside.
We had two lovely weeks in Umbria and stayed at the Agriturism Il Belvedere, near Orvieto. What a nice views over Lake Corbara!
The apartment fulfilled all our wishes and the pool was larger then we expected. Because of its high position there always was a small breeze and we enjoyed the good views from the pool.
The owners had prepared a small welcome package upon our arrival which made us feel at home at once. We saw a lot of the sights in the area: Orvieto, Todi, Baschi and we even went to Rome tiwce. Once by car and the other time by train from Orvieto.
We very much enjoyed the local food and the good Orvieto wines!
The owner was very friendly. We fondly remember our summer holiday in Umbria.
With kind regards, Laszlo, Simone, Simon, Ariana en Anouschka
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
We have fond memories of our stay in the apartment Rosato. We had very good weather and were able to use the pool (it wasn't summer). We travelled a lot and saw Orvieto, Todi, Civitella, Civita and Spoleto.
We loved the location of Il Belvedere with its views over Lake Corbara. Thank you for making this possible and for the correct information you supplied.
Best regards and who knows until next time. We wish you succes with your organisation.
Leo
PS. I forgot to mention that we were completely alone. There were no other guests which made our stay surely more private and special.
From before 2009:
Nos tempo este molto piacere.
Grazie e Ciao! Erwin e Barbara
Dear Willemijn,
We spent a wonderful week in Umbria. The owner was very hospitable and kind. There even was a basket with specialities on our arrival. The house is nicely situated. Good beds, great shower, lovely swimming pool with deckchairs. Also a kitchen provided with everything needed to cook and have a bbq, in short good. A lot of things to see and do in the area.
A side note is the soundproofing in between the apartments. Because there is closed dividing door, there is virtually no soundproofing between the apartments because sound bleeds through this door. We had to get used to it but it posed no problem. Also because we and our holidaying neighbours were considerate.
A tip (if permitted) would be to place a mirror along the road (opposite the driveway) because the exit isn't conveniently laid out and via the mirror it would be possible to notice if traffic is coming from the left or right.
Because we also spent another week in Northern Italy and a week in Southern Germany we are able to make a good comparison and this was the best apartment of all three.
In short we will make sure to revisit this area - and there is no reason no to do this via Villainumbria- maybe even the same place.
We hope our comments are helpful.
Kind regards, Monique, Robine, Romée en Koen
Reaction Villa in Umbria: the door has been closed with a wall, therefore there is no longer any noice from one to the other apartment
'I will return whenever I can' were the first words I have spoken after my stay at this farm. At arrival we were given a warm welcome, making us immediately feel at home. The apartments are very nicely furnished, basic but complete and very elegant.
There are few apartments, making a stay here tranquil and with a friendly feel. The farm is in a beautiful spot, very good views on Lake Corbara.
Therefore, I really would like to return here!
Gianvito
Thanks for the lovely stay!
We have had a very good stay and enjoyed the views and the excellent apartment.
We will certainly come again!
Thanks, Anna
