2011:
Thank you
We had a wonderful stay! The view was amazing and the apartments where very nice. The pool was well kept and clean and the outside dining places gave us many wonderful dining experiences.
We only wish there would have been more grills outside since there was no ovens in the apartments. Every night this was a problem. The communication could have been better on location as well. The staff spoke no english at all, but everything got worked out thanks to other Italian guests who spoke english and my friend who lives nearby.
We will absolutely consider coming back for another nice and relaxing vacation in the future.
Thank you very much!
best wishes
Linda
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
we very much enjoyed our stay in apartment Orvieto of La Pergola.
The position is fantastic and the apartment is cosy.
During our stay the weather was not stable, it was early spring. We did not miss the pool at all, so no problem it was still closed.
We received a hearty reception by the owner. He only speaks Italian and we don't. Despite that we managed somehow to communicate.
My mother did remark the lacking of smoke alarm despite there being dire places. She was concerned about this, especially because the apartment is on the first floor.
I hope this is of use to you and maybe we will meet again a next time.
Best wishes, Francien
Willemijn & Saskia,
We have had a lovely stay. Excellent position and wonderful apartment with good facilities and service.
We only have a small item that needs improving regarding the info folder. There are restaurants, but no addresses or how to get there. Knowing where the nearest baker and supermarket can be found would have been appreciated, plus a detailed map of the area, better even if some hiking routes would have been indicated.
Best wishes, Peter
Dear Willemijn & Saskia
only really positive opinion from us. We have enjoyed it. The apartment (Citta della Pieve) had a good atmosphere, cosy, clean, excellent pool, nice position and the owner is very friendly (does not speak a word of English), but my husband managed somehow to have nice conversation with him!
We would give a fat 9 out of 10.
Best wishes, Janneke
2010:
Dear Willemijn, Saskia,
we had lovely days in our countryside in "la pergola" !
The closest city: Castel Rigone is a beautiful quiet & typical little city with a great view on the Trasimeno lake.
we loved take the aperitive or a morning capuccino over there sometimes.
The house was as usual ( it's the 3rd time we are using Villainumbria): perfect, we felt at home very easierly.
the view on the area, with the clean pool, perfect.
We appreciate the kindness of the owner, Léo and his organization of a pizza party. We bought him some olive oil he made, a paradise!!
The washing machine is a good service when you have children, the ping pong was great too.
There was nothing to do unfortunately, but the only bad thing:
the respect of quietness by some guests was not done...I mean, waking up by neighbours who felt completely alone at 6:15 every morning...HARD!!!
But , I perfectly know there was nothing to do, depends on the neighbours you have...
Thank you for everything again , and we hope to rent again with you by the future!
Bybye! Muriel, Gaetan and children - France
Hello Saskia and Willemijn,
A beautiful place with a delightful apartment. We had expected a smaller apartment but were pleasantly surprised by the two spacious bedrooms, nice big bathroom and another big room annex kitchen with a sofabed, large enough for the five of us. Great amenities like covered terrace, couch on the side of the apartment, the possibility to BBQ, the covered ping-pong table which really helped to create a relaxed holiday feeling.
Creating this feeling was helped by the lovely pool with its good quality deckchairs which could be used all day. Great place as a base from which to make some excursions to visit all the lovely places. Worthwhile to come back to, we were spoiled.
Thank you very much for the great service we had a lovely holiday.
Kind regards, Bea and Peter.
From 2009:
Hello Saskia & Willemijn,
We had a lovely time in Umbria, good pool, large apartment, beautiful surroundings and a friendly owner.
The only "but" is the equipment of the kitchen which we found very scarse. We improvised a lot and think that a Senseo coffee maker would be advisable.
Apart from that, we have been very satisfied.
Best regards, Yvonne & Patrick
Hi Saskia,
We returned from a lovely time in Italy. The apartment at La Pergola was all we wished for. We also liked the pool and the always helpful owner. An excellent place for trips in both Umbria and Tuscany.
Thank you for organising it and we'll contact you again for a next holiday.
With kind regards, Riemmy
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
We had a wonderful holiday at La Pergola. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by its beauty, the views and the furnishment of the apartment. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The central location allows for a lot of trips in the area. The children very enjoyed the beautifully situated pool. The pool is clean, but has quite a bit of chloride. Both hair and bathing suits turned yellow/green. Apart from that it is undoubtfully a place we would like to return to.
Kind regards, Kees and Carin
Hello Saskia and Willemijn,
We enjoyed our holiday at La Pergola and were lucky to meet a few other families with children. They played a lot together and also us parents had some good vconversations now and then. We got a good introduction to the apartment, surprisingly, since the owner only speaks italian!
Very positive were the fly screens in front of the windows. The pool is large and clean. The small lighted terraces in front of each apartment were quite special during the evenings. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean when we arrived (outside of the sink and toilet were still dirty) Another negative aspect was the large amount of visitors at the pool (family? Friends? People from the village?). We weren't really disturbed by them, but it would have been more pleasant if they wouldn't have been there. When making the booking, one doesn't think there will be other visitors to the pool then the guests of the apartments themselves.
Best regards and maybe until next time, Annette
From before 2009:
Hello Saskia and Willemijn,
We have had a wonderful 2 weeks in both houses.
Regards, Christa and Arie
Hello Willemijn,
We tremendously enjoyed our holiday (La Pergola). The house was super, the location, the weather, etc etc. Realy a place to return to. We also liked the the information and itinerary you sent upfront.
Once again thanks for taking care of us and for the way you provide your information.
Kind regards, Marco en Lizette
Good morning,
We had a wonderful time in Umbria. Super house, super views. Swimming pool etc. It was a topspot with a incredibly beautiful and tranquilizing view. The only drawback was that there was no custodian who could be asked questions. When we arrived there was no one to wellcome us. We had to find our own apartment and there were no towels but that problem was quickly solved.
Another small drawback is the lack of a sandwich service of some kind. You have to go out every day to get your breakfast.
These are small drawbacks because it was super!!!!!
Kind regards, Hettie
Comment Villa in Umbria:
the owner comes every morning to clean the pool and check if everything is all right. This is between 8.00 and 9.00, so quite early.
Dear mrs. Lindeboom,
We have enjoyed the very nice situated (and tasty furnished) apartment at La Pergola for a week.
One marginal note. The block of appartments isn't locally known as La Pergola. It doesn't ring a bell with anyone as we have found out. The name of the village and turn right after the Agritourism sign will do as itinerary I think.
Thanks for taking care of our booking.
Kind regards, Henry
Comment Villa in Umbria:
The names of the holiday homes fictitious names made up by us. We sent everyone, very timely, an itinerary and an email with in wich all necessary information and tips regarding the surroundings, restaurant etc. can be found.
Hello Willemijn,
Off course we would like to share our experiences.
We had a lovely holiday. The house was super, based on the pictures we had thought it would be much smaller but it turned out to be bigger. Also the swimming pool and deckchairs were excellent.
Regards, Gerdy
Hello,
We enjoyed our stay in Umbria. The apartment, the garden, the pool all were well taken care of and pleasant. Nice that everyone has his own terrace yet their remains enough contact with the neighbours. Very nice is the oven to make pizza's and the possibility to have a BBQ. There also were enough deck chairs and parasols. The owner is friendly end helpful.
We thought it a pity we didn't have a freezing compartment and the fridge is to small for 4 people. It is in a somewhat unstable position and there is danger of tipping over.
The temperatures were very high and it doesn't cool down a lot at night. Airco would be nice to make the nights more comfortable.
Another tip for the owner. As he sells olive oil and jams it would be a good idea to make this known upon arrival by letting people taste some.
Kind regards, Koen en Carine
