From 2011:
Hallo Willemijn/Saskia,
we have had a lovely holiday. t was still warm for the time of the year, but the garden was ideal with, amongst others, the swimming pool.
We were also very pleased with the welcome gift which was a large fruit bowl and a lovely bottle of wine from the area. We liked the garden a lot, with plenty of lawn with excellent irrigation so it was green even in September. Furthermore nice pots and flowers. Beautiful!
We had selected this holiday complex specifically because of its central position and we intended visiting many town and cities.
Due to it being so quiet not always did we find the owner. This was not a problem, but on Monday morning we spent quite some time looking for a supermarket. Therefore we would suggest to put an info pack in the apartments with number and address of a doctor, farmacy and the closeby shops. With the help of a GPS you get really far then!
Best wishes, Diny
Dear Saskia and Willemijn,
as promised hereby our review of our stay in Villa Pino.
We are very happy we have booked this house. Our main reason was the flat garden with decent paths. We were one day active and the other not, relaxing around the pool.
We enjoyed looking at the efforts the owners took to keep the garden well maintained. They did a good job, all was looking fabulous. One day a nefew passed by with his football team and we were invited as well to lunch with them in the shade. We loved it, very Italian. It reminded us of a scene from an olive oil publicity.
Pino gladly gave us pointers to what to see and do around and brought his laptop for me after I asked him weher I could find an internet cafe.
Upon arrival we found a big bowl with fruit, a bottle of wine and flowers from the garden. Wonderful. The house itself was spotless.
We did not particularly enjoy Marsciano, but it did have good supermarkets. The surrounding countryside was nice, but I do not think this is the most beautiful part of Umbria. We have visited Gubbio, Perugia, Orvieto, Todi, Montefalcone, Deruta, Spoleto, Citta della Pieve and Montepulciano (Toscane).
We have no complaints about your website. Booking this was was really easy and the information provided was totally correct. Not a single lie.
I did miss some up to date reviews, I believe the last review was from 2008.
The price-quality of the house was excellent, I really did not think we paid too much. Since we Dutch always need something to complain about, I just wanted to mention that several things were missing in the kitchen, like something to was dishes in, mugs, a kettle, tea pot and water glasses. Wine glasses and plates were plenty. However, we managed anyway and did not want to complain to the owner.
Pino had given us his number and that of his dad which we could call in case of an urgency. However it would have been nice to have a info book with more details about hospitals/dokters, restaurants and supermarkets and … an internet point.
And yes … why did the website not mention the ultralight airport close to the house? It is not at all bothering anybody, actually I rather enjoyed it, but why did you not mention it?
So, this turned out to be a long story, but I think it is rather complete. If you have any further questions, do let me know!
Best wishes, also from my husband, Emmy
From 2009:
What a beautiful spot and ideal for several families to stay together. We were with 3 families with young children and had a lovely week. Beautiful houses, clean and well furnished each with private terrace. The best aspect is the 4th house close to the pool, built by Pino (the owner) especially to be able to enjoy the house as a group, to cook and eat together. The covered terrace has a table that can sit 12 people. Ideal also for lunch, to drink coffee or to retreat to when the day is very hot.
Everybody had their own house with private terrace and we had the fouth house to be together.
The pool has many comfortable sunbeds. The garden is well maintained, with olive trees, lemons etc.. There were a few cats, but not many. Pino speaks English and you can always call him if you have questions. Perugia is just less than half anhour drive and a lovely city to visit. This place is really to be recommended.
From 2008:
Hello,
We have all arrived home safely from a great holiday. The houses were just super and situated in a splendid garden with a great swimming pool. The temperatures were quite high, something we are not accustomed to. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed Umbria and the location was perfect.
Regards from all.
The owner asks a downpayment of 20% of the rental sum.
The balance can be paid one month before arrival.
The security deposit is 100 euro per apartment.
