La Bella Cortona is a recently built complex set in the plains between Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona, just North East of Lake Trasimeno, in the Valdichiana valley. The settings are quiet with nice views on Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino, yet here you are very centrally located. There are 3 apartments for rent in this newly built complex. The owners themselves have two apartments here as well, that they occasionally will use. There are two apartments with two bedrooms (4+2) and a third with an extra small bedroom (5+2). There is digital television with Italian channels, one english spoken and one french spoken channel. All buildings are of recent construction, but built exactly in the same style as the traditional farmhouses in the area. One of the buildings is closed at the moment. The other has the two apartments of the owners and the third has the three apartments that are now being rented for the first time. The pictures were made when the furnishings were just finished, but already give a good idea of the spaces and level of quality one can expect in this holiday rental.    Apartment 1 (4+2) is on the ground floor and has a big arch in front of the entrance, providing a shady outdoor sitting area. One enters the living room with comfortable sofa (that can also be used as a double bed if one would want to), flat screen TV and a dining table with chairs. There is a fireplace as well. The kitchen is open plan and has a big fridge with separate freezer, a dishwasher, oven and 4 pit gas cooker. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine. The two bedrooms (one double and one double that can also be made as a twin) are also on the ground floor and share one bathroom with shower.          Apartment 2 (4+2) of La Bella Cortona has the kitchen and living room also on the ground floor, with the two bedrooms on the first floor. One enters in the living room that has the same equipment as the other apartments. The kitchen is open plan and well appointed, just like the apartments above. There is an extra bathroom with toilet, sink and washing machine. The open stairs lead to the first floor with a double bedroom and a bedroom that can be a double or a twin. On this floor there is the bathroom with shower.       Apartment 3 (5+2) is on the first floor, and has an outside staircase with on top a spacious covered loggia as private outdoor sitting. One enters the living room with comfortable sofa (that can also be used as a double bed if one would want to), flat screen TV and a dining table with chairs. There is a fireplace as well. The kitchen is open plan and has a big fridge with separate freezer, a dishwasher, oven, washing machine and 4 pit gas cooker. This floor furthermore has one double bedroom (that can also be made as two singles) with walk in closet and a single bedroom. These share a bathroom with shower. The top floor has another double bedroom and bathroom with bath.          Prices of La Bella Cortona: Apartment Low Mid High 5+2 600 700 975 4+2 500 700 875 The prices are in Euro per week. Rental is from Saturday to Saturday. Prices are not inclusive of final cleaning (70 euro) and use of the airconditioning (80 euro per week). In the colder moths heating has to be paid separately. Dogs are not welcome. There is bedlinnen and there are towels for use in the house. Guests bring their own towels for the pool.       La Bella Cortona is, as previously said, very centrally situated. One can walk to the nearby village (La Fratte) for shopping and within 4 kms there are several restaurants. Cortona is 10 minutes and Castiglion Fiorentino about the same. At the other side of the Valdichiana valley Montepulciano can be seen and reached within 30 minutes. The entrance to the A1 can be reached within 15 minutes drive, making a large part of Umbria and Tuscany accessibile within a one hour drive. Both Siena and Perugia can be reached within 45 minutes. Lake Trasimeno is at a 10 minutes drive.
