Simple three bedroom house in the Umbrian countryside close to Umbertide for rent. Umbertide is between Citta di Castello and Perugia, in the North of Umbria. The house for rent in Umbria has three bedrooms and one bathroom, excellent views and a big swimming pool. A simple country house, but a nice place for your holiday in Umbria.
The Umbrian house for rent 'La Stesi' is located 5 km from Umbertide, where the E45 passes conveniently, taking you to many other places in Umbria and Tuscany. Umbertide has a nice old town centre, many restaurants and supermarkets. The well visited weekly market is on Wednesday morning. Situated amidst olives and vineyards kept by the owner Franco Moretti, this villa has a beautiful view on the Monte Tezio with the Tiber valley in front. The drive up to the house is all on tarred roads, apart from the last half km. La Stesi is surrounded by three hectares of land, apart from olives and the vineyard the property consists of some woods and the rest is being turned into a truffle forest (that are the plans ...).
The pool is in the sun from early morning to late afternoon and has ample terraces around it with recliners and umbrellas for the shade. The terraces around the house are well protected, partly covered for shade and partly in the sun.
The
house for rent 'La Stesi' has three bedrooms (two doubles and one
twin, with a bunk bed), a bathroom with bathtub, toilet and bidet.
The kitchen has an oven, fridge and freezer. Wooden flooring all
around gives a cosy atmosphere. The fireplace and central heating
will keep you warm on chilly evenings and in the colder periods.
This is a simple house for rent, nothing fancy. However, it is situated in a beautiful spot in Umbria, is comfortable and the (Italian) owners are helpful and very friendly. They live in Umbertide. The daughter lives in the lower part of the house, with independant entrance and parking. She is only there at night and does not use the pool or garden, so you have total privacy. Close to the house an original pizza oven was built and there is a barbecue as well.
PRICES
UMBRIA HOLIDAY HOUSE: The change-over day is Saturday in the high season. How to book: you can send us an email indicating the period you would like to stay in this private house (see contact Villa in Umbria for details). We will double check the availability with the owners and then confirm your booking in an email. The owners ask for a 40% booking deposit, payable via bank transfer. The balance can be paid upon arrival. There is a security deposit of 200 euro.

From 2009: Hello Saskia and Willemijn Again we had a wonderful holiday. We knew La Stesi because we stayed at the house 4 years ago. We knew what to expect: quietness, hospitality, wonderful surroundings and good pool&ldots; Anna and Franco really do their utmost to please their guests. We do think some points could be even better: an external shower near the pool, for instance. One bathroom for 6 isn't always easy, an external shower would partly solve the problem. Franco told us, he was considering to install one: let's do it! We also had too little space in the cupboards of the bedrooms. Part of our cloths had to stay in our travel bags. We only had about 5/6 cloths hangers and a very small cupboard (the type on wheels!). And last but not least, also this year we noticed quite some decliners and sunbeds that were broken, or almost broken. We understand some guests are not particularly careful with the furniture, but do think the next guests shouldn't see the consequences. The security deposit should serve what it is meant for: detract whatever damage is done! Anna is too kind a person for this, we suspect. We didn't even have to pay the full security deposit and she gave it all back without even checking anything. We appreciate her trust in us, but do think she shouldn't be this kind all the time. Now it seems quite a list of complaints, but we like to stress that we enormously enjoyed our stay at La Stesi and the hospitality of Anna and Franco. Kind regards, Erik
From before 2009: The holiday was wonderful. Because my husband speaks italian rather well we received a very warm welcome and have been invited multiple times by the owners. That off course was delightful. The house is indeed very basic; there where however towels! Nevertheless the pool is especially big for a private pool; wich is verry luxurious. Also the whole private area is special. The daughter doesn't live there anymore. You can remove that from your site: which makes a big difference in privacy. The owner does come by everyday to do his own business, but doesn't come on the rented part of the property. All in all very nice. Kind regards, Mascha
