Casa Monte del Lago
Casa Monte del Lago is a lovely holiday home at the edge of the village Monte del Lago, on the shores of Lake Trasimeno.
From this premises you have a lovely view on the Trasimeno Lake. The nearest beach is within walking distance. This holiday house is situated close to the border of Tuscany, directly along the cycling-path around the Lake: therefore the Dutch owners have provided 4 bicycles for free !
In the garden you can make use of the original, big Pizza-oven, but there is a portable BBQ as well. There is a small vegetable garden guests can use.
You can enter this holiday home either via the ground floor or the first floor.
The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen ( dishwasher, oven, 4-pit gas-cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer, coffeemaker etc ) incl. washing-machine, and dryer. Simple bathroom. Adjoining dining-room with French windows. Next is a twin-bedded bedroom with closet. Front room is not accessible.
The first floor has a big-size kitchen/dining area. From here you can enter the front, twin-bedded bedroom with sitting area and satellite TV ( DVD player as well ). On this floor the corridor leads to two bathrooms ( 1 with bath, 1 with shower ), another twin-bedded bedroom with closet and the internet-room with a staircase to the ground floor.
A cot and baby-chair can be provided.
The house has a L-shaped terrace. The fenced garden has some olive trees to give you shade and the ultimate Italian feeling ! There are 2 reclining beds and 6 comfortable reclining chairs and a table.
The lake is approx. 100 meters away, the first beach is just a short walk from the house. Public swimming pools with restaurants at approx. 1500 meters.
The pizza-oven and BBQ can be used. There is a separate storage for the bicycles and space for 2 cars in the garage.

The prices are per week and for 4 to 6 guests. For up to 3 guests there is a discount of eur 150 per week on the above listed prices.
Not included in the price is use of gas, water and electricity, based on consumption. Final cleaning has to be paid separately, as shown above. Bed linen and towels are provided. Guests bring their own beach/pool towels.
Animals are not allowed in the house or on the premises. No smoking inside.
In high season minimum stay is one week and change-over day can be on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Out of high season and upon specific request arrival and departure day can be also on the other days of the week.

Hi,
We enjoyed our stay in Monte Del Lago. The house is in an excellent location with lovely views over the lake ( with wonderful sunsets) and easy access to major roads for day trips. The large garden is well furnished and although private enough it was quite nice to be able to say good-day to the people strolling along the lakeside and watch the families playing football in the park opposite. It has lots of potential for walks and bike rides. Both the owner and the agent were extremely efficient and helpful by text and email and Marta, the local contact, was delightful and very friendly and helpful. She recommended the Settimio restaurant in San Feliciano where we had one of the best fish meals ever.
The house itself was very spacious and well appointed although it is a rather odd arrangement with three bathrooms and two kitchens! Personally I would have preferred it if the lovely big room at the front upstairs was kept as a comfortable lounge/ dining room and then the upstairs would have been a really nice self-contained flat perhaps with just a utility room downstairs for the washer.
Despite using the screen doors all the time we did come across three scorpions in the house in our week there and although that doesn't bother us as we have come across them before I know it can be scary the first time you come across one so it might be worth giving a reassuring message either with the joining instructions or in the house!
Alll in all it is a really nice house in a great location and very good value for money. I would certainly recommend it to friends looking for a peaceful holiday in Umbria.

Dear Villa in Umbria,
we have enjoyed our stay in Casa Monte del Lago. Lots of space, a safe fenced garden (for the children) and a well appointed house (all we needed was present).
Also the position was surprising: very quiet and yet the ideal base for visiting towns like Perugia, Siena, Florence and even Rome.
We did expect the house to be more tidy: the floor was not very clean, the ceiling had cob webs and spiders.

The owners ask for a downpayment of 30% of the rental price to be paid via bank transfer. The balance can be paid one month before arrival. The security deposit is 300 euro.
