Il Camino

The farmhouse has been completely restored and refurbished in 1991 and it has been constantly upgraded since then. The owners have kept all restoration works as closely as possible to Umbrian architectural traditions, meaning they have used real wooden beams and terracotta tiles. The ground floor used to be the stables, as was the case in all ancient Umbrian farms. The top floor used to be the living area of the framing family. The farm now has an apartment on the ground floor and two apartments on the first floor. The farm is built against a hill, making the first floor also ''ground floor'', with nice terraces to sit outside and enjoy the Umbrian countryside.

All apartments are fully furnished and have a fireplace. They all have a entrance on a private terrace, a simple kitchen in the living area (apart from the ground floor apartment which has a separate and better equiped kitchen), two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. The ground floor apartment as well as one of the first floor apartments has a double and a triple bedroom. The other first floor apartment has a double and a twin bedroom. The ground floor apartment has a separate kitchen with dishwasher, big fridge / freezer, 5 pit cooking top, oven and large pots and pans so one can cook for a bigger group. There is a big barbeque on the left side of the ground floor terrace.
In all apartments there is a bread toaster, coffee machine and sat-TV.
There is a washing machine for general use.

The pool (7 by 14 meters and between 1.20 and 1.40 m deep) is absolutely wonderful, just below the farm with large stone steps leading to it. There is pool furniture around it on the spacious terrace. The garden furthermore has a table tennis table, soccer table and large gazebo in front of the house, making it really ideal for outside dining or relaxing with a book in the shade. The garden has a well kept lawn and one can park the cars in a covered car park.

On the grounds another little house was built (the custodians house). This always remains closed (the owners keep sheets and other items in here). The owners maintain a vegetable garden where guests can take the vegetables they want. There are a few bicycles available for use as well. The closest villages are Lisciano Niccone (1.5 km) and Mercatale di Cortona (attached to Lisciano Niccone) where you can find several shops and restaurants.

Prices are in Euro per week and include cleaning, clean linen and towels. The costs of heating in winter are not included. Usage of electricity and water is included. Guests bring their own towels for the pool.

Pets are welcome after agreeing with the owners. You do pay 25 euro per week extra.

In high season change-over day is always on Saturday. Out of high season and upon specific request arrival and departure day can be different.

Hello,

our stay in Il Camino was very pleasant. The domain is big, beautiful and with nice views from the terrace. The vegetable garden with salad and all kinds of other vegetables is nice and handy. Only small issue which we already did point out to the owner, are the showers on the first floor. The shower curtains are too short making the showers difficult to use.

The swimming pool on the other hand is fantastic… we can recommend it.
