The house consists of two parts. The top part can be rented for 4 in middle and low season only. The whole villa can be rented, with in total 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
The bottom part of San Savino has three bedrooms, two doubles and one single, all furnished with antique beds and closets.
One of the two bathrooms is of particular shape and luxury. (see photo on this page). The kitchen is basic but functionally, with the sink and working space left in it's original state. There is a big dining table and fireplace plus a fridge and a gas stove and oven.

All furniture is antique and of high quality. The house has been restored to its original state, creating an atmosphere that seems to be taking you back to the last centuries, but with all modern commodities in place.

2011:
We enjoyed two wonderfully relaxing weeks in Umbria. San Savino is a spacious, well-equipped house with a great pool, beautiful flowering trees and fruit trees and situated on a hill overlooking a gorgeous valley and more hills. The owner Marco is very hospitable and welcoming (he treated us to a great meal and wines upon our arrival), although his many visits in order to clean the pool at times conflicted with our wish for privacy. There are many gorgeous medieval hill towns in the vicinity of San Savino and even Rome is doable for a daytrip if you leave early. We had a wonderful time at San Savino, where the only thing we really missed were a washing machine and internet access.

Comment Villa in Umbria: washing machine is in the shed outside.
Dear Willemijn and Saskia,
we have returned home after two lovely weeks in Umbria.
Our compliments for marco the owner, what a kind man, very hospitable, he received us with wine, bread, cold cuts, melon and fried fish.
What a difference with last year. The house was furnished well, clean tables, lots of kitchenware, all was working well and we received a lot of personal attention, like we found some fresh bread on the table outside, truffle for in our pasta, etc.!
Best wishes, Michiel & Ingrid
From 2009:
Dear Willemijn
In the mean time we have returned to Belgium and have started work ... :-((
I would still like to thank you for your assistance during our return trip home. In the end we have managed to buy a crib for our dog and he could fly with us to Belgium.
Despite our car trouble, we really had a good holiday in Italy.
San Savino is a nice accommodation. Total silence and panoramic views over the hills. Marco is a kind man. However I do have to remark that the pool and kitchen were not very clean upon our arrival.
We are extremely pleased with the services of "Villa in Umbria" and would like to thank you both both all.
Best wishes, Sylvie
From before 2009:
Good afternoon,
A small message from us.
We left sunday morning at 06.30. We left the keys on the table We couldn't give them to Marco because we hadn't seen him for two days. We hope we left evereything in good order. We had a wonderful holiday.
Kind regards, Fam J & V
Dear Willemijn,
The week spend in San Savino was very nice. Marco is a lovely guy, all was well cared for. The only thing we couldn't get used to were the firm beds, our dutch backs and hips aren't suited to those yet. As that was the only minor complaint we had a wonderful stay! Thanks for your services and making all plain sailing!
Kind regards, Edwin
PS from the tips you send I can truly recommend the hike from the house to the top of the Montecorona (monastery): a great walk taking one hour to go up and 50 min. to get back.
Hello Willemijn,
Our stay in San Savino was great! What a charming man the owner Marco is!! A great tip.
The description of the house and the pictures on your website don't do really justice to it. To be honest we thought it would be very old fashioned, especially the furnishing, but nothing can be further from reality. It is very cosy. Also the pictures from the pool (without deckchairs) paint a somewhat lesser picture of the house. I think that if a bit more attention is paid to that, the house would be rented out more (the price/quality ratio would be better according to me). The visit by Marco every two days were nice too.
He also organised a great BBQ for us without any obligations. Wonderful!
One thing I'd like to point out: I had emailed Saskia to ask about the amenities in the house as we didn't know what to find. She sent an overview wich among other things stated a washing machine and a hairdryer, unfortunately we didn't see these. It didn't prove to be a problem for us but for some it just might be. The kitchen in the house (upstairs) is a bit disorderly. It seems all the pots and pans and tableware have been gathered at a flea-market. A good coffee machine would be welcome. (there were 5 percolators, but the stove wasn't powerfull enough, so it took quite a while and only half the water was used)
Besides that a lovely house with great surroundings! Our compliments!
Please keep us informed on this type of houses for a future holiday.
Thanks for your service, it is very good!
Kind regards from a satisfied customer, Miriam
Comment Villa in Umbria: the washing machine can be found in the garage, sometimes the owner forgets to tell this....
Dear Willemijn,
I just wanted to let you know, that we had a wonderful vacation in San Savino. Marco was very helpful, and the house and its settings delightful- it was definitely a place we would like to revisit.
Kind regards, Stine
