There is a large pool of 14m by 7m and 1.50m tot 2.50m deep. There are a few trees around for shade on hot summer days. Around the holiday villa there are three terraces to sit outside. At the back of the villa the owners have made a specious terrace overlooking the valley with stunning views of the old castle of Pierlo. The villa is surrounded by a few acres of grounds with olive trees, woods and a small natural pond.
This holiday villa is very private, but nonetheless only about 150 meters from the provincial road leading from Lake Trasimeno to Niccone and Umbertide and connecting with the road leading to Cortona in Tuscany.
The villa has been renovated about twenty years ago preserving the old wooden beams in the ceilings, the old stone walls and the large open spaces. There is a large entrance with on one side the living room with open fire place and on the other side the well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge and freezer, 4 pits gas stove and an oven. There are doors directly from the kitchen to one of the terraces outside. The sitting room has three arched doors to the outside and also the dining room has a large door.
The first floor of the villa has three double bedrooms and a twin room. All large and spacious. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs with shower and bath, and the other downstairs with a bath with hand shower. The first floor has a second small kitchen and sitting room. The house can be divided in two apartments, but we rent it out as one. There is a third small studio downstairs which the owner keeps closed.
Outside, in a separate shed, is the washing machine. The villa has a television.

Bed linen and towels are provided (no pool towels).

Despite of the problems with the pool, that were resolved later, we had a superb holiday.
Thanks again for reacting so quickly when we phoned about the pool and thanks to Aldo who was so kind to let us use his pool. He and his family are very kind people.
The location of the house is fantastic, remote, but still not too far away from the first supermarket etc (about 10 minutes). Also very near to the Lake Trasimeno that we enjoyed a lot.
For the second time round renting a house with you, we enjoyed our holiday very much and we will surely return when travelling to Umbria again.

The kitchen lacks a water boiler and a serving tray (one can do without bit it does make for a bit more comfort) The owners were helpful and everything else was ok!

Our stay in Villa Sanna was excellent. Nice swimming pool, great location, etc. Not one real point of criticism. Our wellcome was also very friendly and supple.
A few small (really very minor ones) points. The outfit of the kitchen in some rental houses can be a bit limited. Here it was rather spartan; a well cutting bread knife was wanting and one does come in handy for the Italian bread....;-)) Another small point of attention is that such a big house can do with a small manual (technical and truistic) for instance:
- information regarding the electrical installation
- workings of the refrigerator, oven and gas stove
- what to do with the rubbish
- which hikes in the direct surroundings
- where to shop (we did receive your information on this subject)
- at night there can be found wild boar on the premises, are these dangerous?, special precautions?, children? He (or she) at some moments behaved rather agressively.
- etc
This would be specially helpful if the owner/proprietor doesn't speak english or french....
Maybe Villa Sanna is a case on its own because it is very big, has a very large pool and is moderately priced. On the other hand the furnishings are a bit dated. We came to know that the house is for sale and that the new owners will surely have to do some renovations.

The owners of the villa ask a downpayment of 20% of the total rent, paying the remainder four weeks before arrival.
The owner asks Eur 200 security deposit upon arrival.
