Luxury apartments near Cortona in Tuscany

The two luxury apartments of Villa Margherita are situated in Tuscany, in the village of Camucia, at only 7 kms from Umbria. Its two well kept holiday homes are set in a beautiful green garden at a stone's throw from the centre of Camucia where there are all shops you need. There is a railwaystation with direct connections to Rome (about two hours) and Florence (about an hour). Villa Margherita is only about 100 meters away from the provincial road linking Lake Trasimeno in Umbria with Arezzo in Tuscany. On top of the hill above Camucia is the well known town of Cortona, an etruscan village, with a very lively athmosfere and lovely to stroll around in the evenings. It has some good restaurants and bars. From the villa there is a walking path leading up to Cortona.
Each luxury apartment has a wifi internet connection (do bring a laptop).

The Villa Margherita with its two holiday houses is set in a large green garden of 4000 sqm with different levels. On the first level is the villa with its three houses (the owner lives in one of them). They all look out to the garden and each of them has its own private terrace, covered and with a fence to ensure privacy.

Walking up from here there is the next level with the pool (4m x 8m), also with a fence, where with a BBQ, a fitnessroom and a bathroom. Higher up, on the third level is again a garden with beautiful views over the Valdichiana valley with at the other end Montepulciano, and if you turn around, you find yourselve looking up to Cortona.

Dogs are not allowed (the owner has two). Both houses sleep maximum 4 people.

The two holiday houses both have a stylishly furnished living room with a fire place, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other with a bath. The smaller house (85 sqm) has one bedroom with two single beds. The larger house (100 sqm) has two double bedrooms on the first floor. Each house has its own washing machine. The smallest house has a kitchen corner with dishwasher. The larger house has a living room and a separate kitchen with dishwasher on the ground floor. In both kitchens there is a large fridge with freezer, a cooker with 4 gas pits and an oven. There is central heating, air conditioning and alarm.

The prices are as follows:

Low season: 630 euro per week
Mid season: 750 euro per week
High season: 1070 euro per week

The seasons are as follows:
Low 03/03 - 24/04 & 25/09 - 30/10
Mid 24/04 - 03/07 & 28/08 - 25/09
High 03/07 - 28/08

Heating = euro 100, use of the airco costs 0,50 eurocent per kW, final cleaning = euro 50, deposit = euro 150. The pool opens on 24/04 and closes 2/10. Guests bring their own towels for use at the poolside.

Special offer: for those who rent more then one week, every extra week has a 10% reduction in the low and middle season. Every third week has a 15% reduction.

How to book: you can send us an email (see contact Villa in Umbria for details) indicating the apartment name, the period you would like, your address and telephone number and the number of people in your group. We will double check the availability with the owner and then confirm your booking. The booking deposit is 50% of the rental price and the balance can be paid in cash upon arrival. The security deposit is 150 euro.

Good evening Willemijn,

It is already two months ago that we were in Umbria and Tuscany (beginning of June). Despite the bad weather we enjoyed our holiday. The house is without comments, well done, clean and large. Very welcoming family (they make a good espresso). They really made us feel at home in Camucia. We enjoyed the region. Unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to fully enjoy the well kept garden and the pool.

We had intended to enjoy the weather and visit some of the many beautiful villages in the area. We found the distances to cities like Florence, Pisa and Luca a bit too far. It was easy to take a train to Florence and Rome, but especially to Rome the trip was longer then we expected.

Reassuming, we had a good holiday and would like to return to the area, but then a bit more centrally located in Tuscany.

We were at Villa Margherita from the 19th of May.

We thoroughly enjoyed the large house and the nice pool with beautiful garden. The other house we thought a bit too small and with less privacy for the same price. The family has showed it to us. It's furniture is very cosy and well done.

I'd like to stress how friendly the owners are. They are very hospitable, bith the parents as the adult children. They share their food, organise a BBQ with the guests and offer the best of what they have. Wonderful people!

Dear Saskia en Willemijn,

We very much liked Villa Margherita, a little paradise on earth. We did not realise this arriving at the house, but staying there we discovered the charms of this place. In the village, but still a bit outside. Build against the hill with always a slight breeze. Beautiful view of Cortona, lovely olive trees, herbs in the garden. The house was more then luxury with everything you need, inlcuding an Italian espresso maker and also a washing machine!

The owners were very helpful, with the correct distance to the guests where or when necessary. We warmly recommend it for young and old alike!

Your mediation was great. For teenagers it was an excellent place with the pool, icecreams nearby, dogs to play with. In short: a very good tip for our family.
