This information has been collected by Villa in Umbria, because living in this region, we have come to know it well. In case of problems during their stay, our clients can always call us. We keep in touch with the owners and will inform them straight away, so that they are able to solve the inconvenience for you. We know all property owners personally and fully trust them, but something can always go wrong. We will help you communicate with the owner so that any inconvenience will be resolved as quick as possible. Who are the people behind the Umbrian rental company villainumbria.com Saskia van der Bolt Born in 1969 in the Netherlands. Graduated in Law at Maastricht University where she also finished her Master degree in European and Comparative Law. After an internship at the European Parliament and some short jobs in Holland, she packed up and left for London. For almost 3 years she lived here and worked as a project and account manager for a local company Freedman International. During a holiday at Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, she met the love of her life and hardly half a year later left London for Italy (July 2000). After some local jobs, she started working for the rental company La Navicella where she stayed for more then 4 years. In October 2007 she started her collaboration with Villa in Umbria. She lives together with her partner and son (born in Italy in 2006) in the house they built together in Tuoro sul Trasimeno. Willemijn Lindeboom Born in 1970 in the Netherlands. She graduated as a technical engineer at the University of Twente and adventurously left Holland for the African continent. Here she had several jobs in Tanzania and in Zambia. Five years later she decided to visit her father, who by then lived in Italy, in Umbria, on the way back to Holland. She went over for a holiday, but fell in love with the beauty of this region. Instead of pursuing her career as a technical engineer in Holland she decided in 2001 that she wanted to live in the Umbrian country side. She started as a gardener and keeper of houses owned by foreigners and in 2003 started villainumbria.com. She now lives and works as keeper and gardener in a small house on top of a hill in between Perugia and Umbertide. Since March 2005 she regularly writes about her Umbrian life on her weblog (in Dutch). How did the rental company villainumbria.com start? Villa in Umbria was founded in 2003 by Willemijn Lindeboom with the idea to help italian property owners with the rental of their holiday homes. Something she had been asked to do more then once. The idea worked well and within a year Villa in Umbria already had a wide choice of vacation rentals. The list of houses keeps growing and the quality improves every year. We carefully select the houses and apartments and if, for some reason, the houses do not fulfil our requirements or owners do not live up to our standards, we delete their house from our website. The houses that remain improve every year thanks to the continuous feed back of our clients, which we always discuss with the owners. The owners themselves obviously do their best to accomodate their guests and make them feel at home.
