Please send them a text message about an hour before arrival.

Upon arrival you will have to pay the final cleaning of €50 per apartment and the security deposit of €150 in cash.

You will also be asked to give passports or identity cards. To avoid a lot of administrative hassle, you can e-mail these details to Villa in Umbria. The address of the head of family/group only, and everybody’s first name, surname, passport number, date and place of birth.

Please note that water is scarse in Italy. In summer it regularly happens that the local authorities close the water for several hours a day. The house has an extra water reservoir, but you are asked not to spoil water.


Directions

From the South, from Rome

Take the A1 highway towards Firenze
Exit at “Orte” and follow the directions towards “Perugia”. You will turn onto the E45.
Exit the E45 at the exit “Todi – Orvieto”
Follow the sign-posted directions to “San Terenziano” (~ 11 km from the “Todi – Orvieto” exit off the E45
The detailed directions below start at the “Hotel Dei Pini” in “San Terenziano” (this hotel, which is sitting in a large cluster of pine trees, is on the right hand-side of the road as you enter “San Terenziano”)
1.2 km after the “Hotel Dei Pini”, follow the road towards the left, direction “Gualdo Cattanea”, “Collesecco”
1.8 km after you turned left, you will find a road on your left, sign- posted “Saragano”. Turn left.
Just before Saragano you will see a small road called Via della Villa on the left. There are two signs for Il Torrione (cantina and agriturismo).
This road is not asphalted but in good conditions.
Take this road and keep driving for about 600 meters (you will pass other houses).
Where the road ends is the gate of 'Il Torrione'.

Directions from the North

Take the A1 highway towards Firenze

Take the Exit “Ripabianca” (also signposted for Foligno).
Follow directions “Foligno”
After 4.5 km, just before a large square house on the right, turn right towards “Gaglietole”.
After a steep 1.5 km climb you reach the village of “Gaglietole”. As soon as you reach the village take a sharp right following the sign “La Ghirlanda” or “Saragano”
You follow this climbing ridge road until you reach the village of Saragano.
Leave the village on your right and pass it.
Just after the village you will find a small road to the right called Via della Villa. There are two signs for Il Torrione (cantina and agriturismo).
This road is not asphalted but in good conditions.
Take this road and keep driving for about 600 meters (you will pass other houses).
Where the road ends is the gate of 'Il Torrione'.

Restaurants in the area

“Le Noci”: a family-run restaurant in Grutti. No menus here, the waitresses will tell you what the kitchen is serving that day … Price including starter & main dish, but 
excluding wine ~Euro 15/person

"Locanda del Prete" is situated in Saragano, so you could walk here. The prices are rather high, but one has beautiful outside sitting on the terrace. There is also a wine bar.

“Il Dinosauro Blu”, on the road from San Terenziano just before the turn-off to Saragano, offers great pizza! A local favorite.



“La Casella”: a family-run agriturismo / restaurant (drive to San Terenziano, from San Terenziano turn right on the road to Collazzone; the restaurant is on your right, about 
2 km from San Terenziano). Seasonal menu. (Price ~Euro 20/person, excluding wine). 


“La Vecchia Cucina” in Collesecco (Marcellano) offers a good meal at a reasonable price. They make pizza by the centimeter / meter. (Price ~Euro 15/person, excluding 
wine)

“Enoteca Piazza Onofri” in Bevagna is a bit further away, about a 30-minute drive. However, Bevagna is a lovely town (a worthwhile ½ day excursion), and the restaurant (and its superb wine selection) are excellent. (Price ~Euro 20-25/person, excluding wine).

Shopping in the area



All daily necessities can be bought in Collesecco - from Saragano turn right and at the main cross roads turn left. 



The bakery: “Il Forno” is next to the gas station.
Across the bakery is a great butcher shop (“Macelleria”). 

The grocery store, “CONAD”, has excellent cheese, cold cuts, and all other grocery items (bread, milk, fruit, vegetables, drinks, wine, beer, etc.).

Do note that stores are open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm and then again from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Food stores are generally closed on Thursday afternoon, apart from those with 'orario continuato).

On Wednesday there is the weekly market (from 8:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.) in Bastardo (from Collesecco, Bastardo is about 5 km away).
