Villa San Savino with pool, two houses for two families
The Villa San Savino is located in Umbria near Umbertide and has a rich history that goes back 5 centuries. An important testimony to the distant past is the small church, the oratory of San Savino, monk of Monte Corona.
This authentic house was a home to the monks who built the hermitage of Monte Corona (1530), dedicated to the famous local monk San Savino. Its position halfway up the mountain between the Abbey of San Salvatore and the Hermitage made it an ideal place to stay and pray while building the hermitage. Both abbeys are still in use by a closed monk community and are partially open to visitors.
The little chapel dedicated to the monk San Savino, the antique fireplaces, original arches and wooden beams of the Villa San Savino remind us of these bygone times.
From San Savino you have a panoramic view of the Apennines and you are surrounded by forests and olive trees. The plot is 1 hectare and the swimming pool measures 13 by 6 meters and is 1.50 meters deep. An ideal place to relax, but also to actively explore the area on foot or by mountain bike.
The center of Umbertide is around 15 minutes' drive away. There is a lively local market every Wednesday morning and there are several supermarkets.
