Het is een prachtige en rustige omgeving, waar vroeger veel Romeinen kwamen voor vertier. Het is een leuk park voor kinderen om te bezoeken, zeker als ze de Romeinen op school al hebben gehad. Overblijfselen van het amfitheater, tempels, badhuizen, Romeinse wegen en winkels kunnen bezichtigd worden. Dit zijn indrukwekkende grotten die veel toeristen bezoeken tijdens hun vakantie in Marche of Umbri\u00eb. Weinig mensen weten dat Umbri\u00eb ook een aantal prachtige grotten heeft, de grotten van Monte Cucco. Let wel, je moet fit zijn om deze grotten te bezoeken. Dit is niet voor kleine kinderen of senioren. Het is de hoogste waterval van Europa. Het water stort vanaf 165 m hoogte in drie watervallen het Neradal in. De watervallen zijn geopend en gesloten op bepaalde tijden. Er zijn mooie en veilige wandelpaden langs de watervallen. Parkeren is gratis. Bij de ingangen Belvedere Superiore en Belvedere Inferiore kun je entreekaartjes kopen. Isola Maggiore is het makkelijkst bereikbaar. Op dit eiland vindt men bars en restaurants. Je kunt er een wandeling maken van ongeveer een uur. Het is een leuk uitstapje voor kinderen, ook het tripje met de boot is leuk. Er zijn geen auto\u2019s op de eilanden. Vanuit Tuoro, Passignano en Castiglione del Lago vertrekken regelmatig veerboten. Isola Polvese is een natuurpark en bereikbaar met de veerboot vanaf het plaatsje San Feliciano. Deze gaat minder frequent. Er zijn twee waterparken in Umbri\u00eb, die wellicht de moeite waard zijn. Deze zijn niet heel groot, maar de kinderen zullen zeker een mooie dag beleven. Er zijn verschillende grote glijbanen en zwembaden. Er is een pizzeria en een bar plus een groot grasveld waar je kunt zonnebaden.<\/p>\n E\u00e9n park ligt in Tavernelle, een klein dorpje langs de weg tussen Perugia en Citt\u00e0 della Pieve, net ten zuiden van het meer van Trasimeno. Van half juni tot half september worden rondleidingen georganiseerd op donderdag- en zaterdagochtend van 10.30 tot 12.00 uur. Kinderen krijgen uitleg over het natuurgebied en ze krijgen een verrekijker mee. De rondleidingen zijn in het Italiaans en in het Engels. Reserveren is niet nodig. Deelnemers dienen aanwezig te zijn 10 minuten voor de rondleiding.
