There’s always something to watch: boats coming into the harbour and the hills on the opposite shore gradually taking on softer colours as the sun goes down.

If you drive clockwise around the lake from Castiglione del Lago, you’ll eventually reach Tuoro sul Trasimeno. Tucked away a little along the road, you’ll find La Puntabella, a lovely spot with a distinctly summery atmosphere. Once you arrive, you could almost imagine yourself on Ibiza, with colourful details, parasols and a relaxed holiday vibe.
The menu features colourful cocktails, taglieri (platters of local specialities) and all kinds of tasty bites. Find a table, order something delicious and enjoy the views across Lake Trasimeno. Lo Scoiattolo in Tuoro sul Trasimeno
From the shores of Lake Trasimeno, head up into the hills to reach Lo Scoiattolo. Its location is what makes this place so special: from the terrace, you can enjoy sweeping views across the deep-blue water, the islands and the surrounding hills.
The place may look rather unassuming from the outside, but once you’re sitting on the terrace, you’ll find yourself wanting to stay and admire the view. On a clear day, the panorama stretches far across the surrounding countryside.

Pescatore Cafè in Castiglione del Lago

Monte del Lago is a small medieval village on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. Take a stroll through its narrow lanes before following the village down towards the water.

- Stay for dinner after your aperitivo. There are some fantastic restaurants around Lake Trasimeno where you can continue enjoying the evening.
- And perhaps the most important tip of all: piano piano, take your time. Find a lovely spot and savour the moment.
