How to make Italian coffee

We often get asked by our clients who have rented a holiday apartment or villa through us, whether the rental unit has an American style coffee maker. Some owners have them, others don’t.

So it might be time to understand how to make coffee in an Italian coffee maker, also called ‘moka’ or ‘caffettiera’. Watch the video, and see how terribly easy it is:

Now try it out and enjoy the coffee!

If you decide to buy a moka or caffettiera, do remember to buy a good one (for example Bialetti). They are easier to maintain.

Do not put the moka in a dishwasher. Just rinse it out after use. When putting the moka away, do so in separate pieces to avoid mould. So never screw the top on (especially not when still wet).
