Roaming the fields for food

No worries we are fine and so is the garden but verdure del campo, wild greens, are still held in very high esteem here. If you are lucky you may even find them in a ristorante. Either at a high price or served in a place where the patron or his family have some time on their hands. We were in luck last Sunday. Our neighbours passed with a huge sack filled with delectable greens. For the umpteenth time we got a lesson in cleaning them.

Very easy!

Just one and a half our later we were done … (in two)!!!

The lovely raperonzolo (rapunzel) needs to be scraped and from the greens you need to remove all yellowy and tough leafs. So yes they are cheap, for free even but they do take some time to find and … prepare.
