Spring mushroom

I did a short search on the internet to try and find this mushroom, but to no avail (I do admit I am not a patient researcher and therefore hardly ever succeed in finding plants or trees, let alone mushrooms, online).
However I see this mushroom every year in spring and each time I am amazed. Such a lovely and strange form. It looks rather like a scap bit of red paper thrown away a long time ago and half torn apart.
Any ideas?
