About Brufa

On a sunny winter’s day in January, I found myself enchanted by the hidden charms of Brufa, nestled in the heart of Umbria. Guided by Alessandra of Ziarelli Country Loft, I explored this quaint town, once a fortified settlement between Perugia and Assisi. Perched at 295 meters above sea level, Brufa, formerly known as Castel Grifone, still echoes its medieval past. You will recognize its round shape while walking through the winding alleys.

Beyond its historical allure, Brufa beckons you to a unique celebration within its ancient walls every August: Brufa in Festa. Join the locals in revelry and immerse yourself in the festive spirit. For event details, check for updates on the local tourist information’s Facebook page: ProLocoBrufa.

Parco Sculture Brufa

Unexpectedly for most visitors, Brufa has an artistic surprise up its sleeve. In the 1980s, an innovative project took root, adorning the town and its surroundings with sculptures of local and international artists. As you wander through Brufa, hike, or drive in the surrounding hills, colossal sculptures emerge, each a thought-provoking masterpiece.

Upon arriving at Ziarelli Country Loft, you’re greeted by an imposing sculpture by Ettore Consolazione – “Against all Terrorism” (2010), a poignant representation of the shattered twin towers.
