il “Tegamaccio” del Trasimeno

This Sunday was a rainy day in Umbria. Friends of mine from Monaco came over for a short visit in Castiglione del Lago. What should you do on a rainy day? Eat and drink!

I always go with friends to restaurant La Cantina. This is a good restaurant close to my apartment. But this time I wanted to taste something different. I asked my neighbors where to go for a good lunch…

Osteria Le Scalette is a restaurant in Castiglione del Lago where you can eat different kinds of meat and fish specialties. I didn’t expect this. It was all very tasty. First of all, it is a small family run restaurant. Here you can taste the typical Umbrian dishes made by the Italian “nonna”. The waitress was charming, and the food was fresh, tasty and authentic. The prices were reasonable. I took the Lake Trasimeno fish soup “Tegamaccio”. Just outstanding, I can recommend this dish to anyone who loves fish of the Trasimeno Lake.

Osteria Le Scalette, I would definitely eat here again!

I thought I was too old to read blogs (67) but the Trasimeno stuff found here is brilliant! Many thanks to all the scribes.
