The Italians say since a few years, every year more convinced than previously: ‘non abbiamo più le mezze stagioni’ (we do no longer have the middle seasons. They mean Spring and Autumn). I am afraid they will soon leave out the word ‘mezze’ because all seasons seem to have disappeared or at least to be rather mixed up.
Last week we saw temperatures of minus ten, today it is at least 20 degrees. I had lunch outside in my t-shirt. Lovely, but a little odd for February.
Just now the flock of seagulls that pass here often flew over. Well … I noticed they do not really ‘fly over’. They play with the thermal columns and occasionally cry out loud, I imagine, of sheer joy! And right they are!
